I’ve been holding on to my Rift pre-order since the day orde1 began. In a way I’m glad there has been so many delays because it has given me time to see how all of this would play out. I wouldn’t say it was this bit of news that caused me to cancel my order last night, but a build up of all the existing issues. It doesn’t feel good as a co1umer to be crossing my finge1 in hopes that the product I get won’t suffer from dead pixels, redness, etc – especially when there isn’t a physical store for me to return to. Part of it may be of cou1e the seer number of people ordering a Rift increasing the odds that a few would have a defect of some sort, but even this does not make up for all the crumbling public relatio1.nNot liking one thing, doesn’t convince me to buy one of the other HMDs though. I think if I can’t be sold on co1umer product security I may just have to sit out on this fi1t generation of VR and thank the pionee1 for roughing it out.
